Fiber Art for a Cause

Pescado Fresco by Jane Davila.The Winter 2005 issue of Cloth Paper Scissors (pp 76-78) contained an article about “Fiber Art for a Cause,” by Patricia Bolton. Bolton focused on Virginia Spiegel and the money that Spiegel raised for the American Cancer Society through fiber art postcard auctions and sales. To date, Spiegel has raised $33,000 from the sale of these donated cards. What a cause - what a creative way to pay for cancer research! One sample of these cards includes “Pescado Fresco” by Jane Davila, pictured here (now in the collection of Janelle Girod). This card is from the 2005 FFAC Online Sale.
