Quilting With Japanese Fabrics

Quilting With Japanese FabricsQuilting With Japanese Fabrics (Paperback) by Kitty Pippen - Would you create a Japanese design in denim? I didn’t think so. However, some large-scale motifs included in these fabrics make them a challenge to work with, so you might try some inexpensive fabrics for practice. Pippen explains Indigo, Kasuri, Yukata, Shibori, and Aizome, with a special section on Sashiko quilting. She also includes an appendix with places where the fabrics can be ordered. Otherwise, you can try the Sashiko on denim…who knows? That choice with Pippen’s techniques might give your ordinary fabric a new glow!
